9th Tunnel symposium Sigrist-Photometer AG in Switzerland, 22.9.2010
Fire Detection in Tunnels - Concept and Realisation. Increased requirements on the safety equipment in tunnels require a well coordinated cooperation between planners, engineers and suppliers of all the individual components. Particularly the meanwhile demanded integration of the fire detection system into the complete ventilation and control concept is a great challenge. The particularities of a tunnel must be taken into account for the concept and realisation of each project. In our 9th edition of the tunnel symposium of SIGRIST-PHOTOMETER AG the participants receive insight into the topic of the fire reconnaissance from the concept up to the realisation. Theoretical basic know-how and requirements as well as practical realisation and experiences will be presented. The new city-ring Zurich, opened last November, was equipped with over 300 smoke detectors "FireGuard" made by SIGRIST. A visit to the control room “Ripistal” gives an interesting insight into the practical realisation of a modern safety concept for early fire recognition. The SIGRIST team welcomes you at this event. Note: the symposium language will be German only!
FireGuard
The FireGuard measures the scattered light intensity in tunnels with scattering angle, measuring range, response threshold and signal processing being optimized for smoke and fire detection. Air sample is fed through the measuring cell without the use of
